Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer working in the fields of theater, film and television. She started her career as an actor in theater before going on to make appearances in numerous TV series, mainstream and independent films. She was known for appearing in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. The series both received critical acclaim, but she also took home a variety of awards. In 1995 she made her acting debut in The Tempest as Ariel. The stage credits she has received include The Broadway performance of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Coming to her movie career she is renowned for her performances in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In the world of television, her role in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her praises.
